In this treasure hunt, teams will have to cover as many sites, answer as many questions and perform as many tasks as possible within five hours.
The approximate locations of the sites are indicated on a map in the starter kit which will be given to teams on the race day on 18 July. There will be questions and/or tasks to perform at each site.
All teams are required to register at the Start Point from 8am to qualify for the race. Participants are required to scan their NRIC between 8am – 8.45am as part of the registration process.
The event will flag off at 9am sharp. Participants are advised to come early to register to avoid any bottleneck.
Upon arriving at a site, teams will be required to locate the station marshall to collect the unique site code. Teams will only be issued the unique site code when all 4 members of the team are present.
SMS the site code to the race hotline: 73333 to register your team's site arrival time and to receive questions for the site via SMS. All the questions will be sent at one go. Please contact technical helpdesk: 62936275 if you have not received any SMS after 3 to 4 minutes.
Teams will receive 1 point for arriving at the site and registering their arrival times via SMS.
Each question will come with three possible answers – (a), (b) or (c).
Teams will have to search the area for the answer and SMS the team’s answer to the race hotline: 73333. Each SMS may only contain the answer to one question, i.e. to answer two questions, participants must send two SMSes.
The answers are unique to each question, so please ensure you answer the correct answer to each question. Teams can only make one attempt in answering a question. The answer given by the teams on their first attempt will be locked into the system and further SMSes containing other answers to the same question will be disregarded.
Teams will receive 1 point for each correct answer.
To perform a task, teams will need to locate the site marshall to learn about the task. All four team members must be present while doing the task. The site marshall reserves the right to prevent teams from performing a task, or to refuse to give the team the task code, if all four members are not present while doing the task.
Upon the successful completion of the task, teams will obtain a task code. Each task comes with its own unique task code.
Teams will then need to SMS the code back to the race hotline: 73333 to register participation. Teams will receive 2 points for completing a task.
All teams must report to the End Point before 2pm. The team leader will be required to scan his/her NRIC at one of the counters set up to lock in the team’s arrival. Teams who fail to report before 2pm will be disqualified from the race.
