From Kathmandu to Kolkata to Kochi, let us break stereotypes by sharing with you the world of Singapore’s Gurkha, Bengali and Malayalee communities. Get a peek into the rich diversity of their cultures, traditions and languages and appreciate the contributions of these communities to Singapore’s history and heritage. Gurkhas tend to be the invisible men of Singapore for they are the silent guardians of our security. We all know about the hardworking Bangladeshis who are building our country but do you know about the contribution of their forefathers to world philosophy and literature? Kerala (where Malayalees come from) is often described as God’s own country and you will believe it when you partake in their traditional dance forms.
Not to be missed!
Momo-cha, sukuti and mustang. No, these are not names of exotic bars or fast cars. Instead, get ready to wolf down a scrumptious spread of trivia and history surrounding them at the other famed Everest, if not at the Palace. Other highlights include elaborate showcases of classical art form and even, the mother of all martial arts!
