Arte(factually) Speaking
Arte(factually) Speaking is a story-writing competition based on the National Heritage Board museums' collections.
This competition aims to create greater awareness and appreciation of the cultures of the many communities that call Singapore home, be it the cultures of incumbent or new Singaporeans through story-writing based on the National Heritage Board's collections. In addition, the competition also aims to improve the students' creative thinking and writing skills.
For all upper primary and lower secondary school students, here's an opportunity to showcase your creative writing skills! Bring artefacts to life in your stories in this story-writing competition and stand to win great prizes!

* All prizes are non-transferable and are not exchangeable for cash.
Things You Need to Know:
- Each school may field as many participants as they wish, but each participant may only submit one entry.
- The word limit for each competition category is as follows:
- Upper Primary category: between 200 to 450 words.
- Lower Secondary category: between 350 to 600 words.
- Schools may submit the entries on their students' behalf, or participants may submit their entries individually.
- All entries must be submitted online before 11.59pm on Thursday, 28 May 2009.
- All artefacts that have been selected for Singapore HeritageFest 2009 Story-Writing Competition, Arte(factually) Speaking, can be identified by the orange card like the example shown. Please look out for them when you are finding the artefacts. Have fun exploring our museums!
